Conference Paper Awards in 2024
À¶ÄñÊÓƵwill be offering the following Conference Paper Awards in 2024. The purpose of these awards is to encourage, acknowledge, and recognise the quality work of À¶ÄñÊÓƵmembers.
Award categories include:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Researcher Award
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Postgraduate Researcher Award
- Betty Watts Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Award
- Early Career Researcher Award
- Postgraduate Researcher Award
- Postgraduate Student / Early Career Researcher Poster Award
Eligible submission requires:
- Submitting an abstract via the conference abstract submission process and being accepted to present at the 2024 conference;
- Submitting a conference paper via the process detailed here.
Paper criteria:
- Only one paper per researcher or research team should be submitted for any one Award in any year;
- Papers previously submitted may not be re-submitted;
- The same paper cannot be submitted for more than one award in any year;
- The work should be original work not already published or accepted for publication at the date of submission for this Award;
- The work should adhere to the highest ethical standards and reflect the principals of research integrity expressed in the and, where relevant, the ;
- Please ensure that your submission is entirely your own work, free from copyright infringement, with all sources used appropriately acknowledge or cited.
To apply for an award, use the À¶ÄñÊÓƵAwards Submission Form to provide the following:
- Indicate your eligibility for the specific award (found on each award-specific page) by answering a set of questions on the application form;
- A copy of the abstract and the title of the paper and the author's name;
- A copy of the full paper, de-identified without the authors name'.
These awards are open to À¶ÄñÊÓƵfinancial members who meet eligibility requirements for the award, including new members registered before the date they upload their submission.
Awards will be presented at the À¶ÄñÊÓƵAnnual Conference.
Submitted papers will be assessed by a panel of experienced reviewers and recipients of the Awards will be posted on the À¶ÄñÊÓƵwebsite.

The Betty Watts Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Award recognises an outstanding conference paper related to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander education. Read more »
The Early Career Researcher Award recognises an outstanding conference paper by a researcher within 5 years of the award of their doctoral degree. Read more »
The Postgraduate Student Researcher Award recognises an outstanding conference paper by a postgraduate student researcher. Read more »
The À¶ÄñÊÓƵPostgraduate Student and Early Career Researcher Poster Award is presented for the best poster presented at the À¶ÄñÊÓƵAnnual Conference by a Postgraduate Student or Early Career Researcher. The Award is intended to support the participation and inclusion of postgraduate students and early career researchers in the educational research community. Read more »
